A design can look perfect on screen and still fail in production. Packaging lives in dielines, substrates, inks, barcodes, legal panels, and vendor realities. When your runs are small and timelines are tight, production mistakes cost time and money you cannot spare.
Before you approve final files, make sure you have the basics covered:
- Correct dielines, bleed, and safe areas for every size
- Barcode placement that scans reliably
- Editable working files so you can update flavors, claims, or net weights without rebuilding the whole layout
- Clear version control so your printer receives the right files every time
This matters for every brand, but it matters even more for small batch products where each run needs to be clean, fast, and repeatable.
